12 Months in the making. Al finally got the chance to see his new Hawk at Jet power 2006.
Ali is taken through the assembly and operation process of the model by the Skygate team!
Last words before the Hawk is shipped back to the UK!
Some seriously meaty looking main legs and wheel. The engineering that goes into this is like the rest of the kit... Stunning
Sitting on the concrete waiting for its first flight at Long Marston airfield. Late September.
A rearward shot of the model showing the scale flap mechanism and overall high standard of finish to the model! Just visible here are the airflow deflectors on the top of the wing and the scale rippling in the fuselage section above the intakes.
Full flap applied! Notice the secondary flap section. A scale feature that is fitted as standard and what possibly explains the totally hands off flight of this model with flap deployed.
A shot of the scale nose leg and the operating nose light. Working lights, a host of scale antennas are all supplied by Skygate for this model.
Taxing out for its test flight. Only 1 week after it was picked up at Jetpower in Germany.
Ali impressed with the hawk after a very successful flight!!
Ali after flight number 3. Looking pleased with a great days testing.
This is the cockpit as it is supplied by Skygate. Totally pre made and painted.
Scale pilot also supplied as an option.
Volkan Dil and Shaun Newby key members in the Hawk ground crew posing with the Hawk on one of its first public outings.
Al's Hobbies Jet Team with the Hawk after numerous flights at RAF Coningsby!
Ali making final pre flight checks before taxiing out onto the runway!
First flight of the day at a murkey Raf Coningsby, just st the point of rotation.
Low pass with flaps down. This model slows down to walking pace! All that witness this model flying slow are blown away with how it just seems to hang in the air.
Low and fast with the nose light on.
I'm sure its up there somewhere!
One last pass before the gear comes down and time to land.
Perfect landing nose high and square on the mains. The Hawk has impeccable slow speed characteristics that make it a dream to land.
As the light goes the Hawk taxi's back one last time.
Time to cool down and pack it away. Al looks understandably happy with his new Hawk.
